Mid-Blog Crisis?

February 27, 2017

I was meant to post a review today, and somehow it turned into a totally random ramble for me.  I am currently going through a phase that I feel burnt out from juggling the demands between my full time job, blogging and looking after a 3 yr old who takes most of my time. I am taking some time to think how to re-prioritize and get my life more organised and efficient! If you have any good tips and ideas please don’t hesitate to share them with me.

I’ve seen so many of my fellow blogger friends quit blogging after becoming a mommy, and I have to say that this idea is always on the back of my mind as it will make my life much easier and less stressful. On the other hand, I love blogging very much. It is the only avenue for me to share my creativity, as well as my love for beauty and fashion! Hopefully I will have a better solution, so I can be more efficient with blogging and expand my blog with wider content, as I know many of you are interested in seeing more lifestyle posts from me such as a home tour, my wardrobe, my collections, and how I organise my makeup, shoes etc..They are work-in-progress I promise!

Found this cute picture with my boy who loves photo bombing and copying me! I have been literally living in these Bally Slippers (that can also be worn as loafers) ever since I got my hands on them (always sold out in Australia). On my boy he is wearing the Burberry Kids Polo and the cutest Mini Birkenstock.

Hi Reika, I appreciate the honesty in your post. Just want to tell you that you are my favorite blogger. I read your blog religiously every week and your recommendations are the only ones I trust! As a first time mom (I have a 20 month year old daughter) I can completely understand how overwhelming it can be to juggle working full-time outside the home and being a mom. If you need to take some time off for yourself, don’t be afraid to do so. It’s important for our sanity to have some much needed “Me” time. As a loyal reader i’ll be here waiting for you! Hugs.

I wish you are doing well with your baby girl! How time flies, I can’t believe your baby is 20 months old now. I don’t talk about mommy related things on this blog much, but I am always up for mommy chat on emails/insta 🙂

Hi Reika,

I just wanted to chime in and say that I too love your blog and check often for updates, but it’s completely understandable if you just need to take a break or post less frequently because, hey, you need a life, too! I don’t have children yet, but even I feel overwhelmed with work and life sometimes; I can’t imagine having to update my blog and instagram regularly. LOL! I’m totally terrified what’ll happen to me once I have a child… :S

Anyway, I love reading your blog the most, but it’s also fun to get glimpses of your life, your beauty and fashion picks, and your travels from your instagram posts, so I think you have a nice balance overall. Here’s to hoping you can continue what you love doing, for your own creative outlet and for your fans! 🙂

This fashion pose by 2 is something extra special with your beautiful boy who sure knows how to do it. Bally make the most comfortable of shoes. Both of you look fab I encourage you to continue and look forward to your lifestyle with home tour, it will be a lot of work in progress, just take your time… it will add such an interesting element to your very stylish blog. Already this courtyard photo is superb !

Hey Reika,
I am a big fan of your blog too, and though I would miss reading your amazing posts, I completely understand that you need to spend more time with your little one! I am a mommy too, and every moment is so precious!! Just do what you feel is right and I’m sure the rest will fall in place! (This photo of you and your son is my favorite!!)

Thank you so much for the kind comment Vicky! Yes you are so right – every moment is so precious with our little ones! That’s why I always feel guilty if I spend time blogging instead of playing with my boy:-P It’s just hard to find a balance!

Hi Reika, I just read this post and I can truly understand your struggle. I too just had a baby and even though I am not working & just looking after my baby, it has taken all of my time & energy. So, I am really amaze of how you can manage working full time, being a mom & blogging as well. I just want to tell you that I really love your blog and always looking forward to a new post. Your blog is my most trusted source for reviews of makeup beauty and fashion. Most of my makeup were bought after I read your reviews. I really appreciate your time in writing the blog and I respect your decision if you need to take sometime off from blogging as well. I realise after I had my baby that we just cant always have all things that we want and there are things that we need to sacrifice for a more important things (eg. our children). Lastly, if you still want to do some blogging, maybe try to think blogging as your hobby where you can release some stress from work and “me time” from your son. And of course, do it when you feel like it without feeling burdened by it. Good luck Reika! 😘
